I managed to shave a decent five shots off my average score as of late, and the great thing about it is that I changed nothing about my physical game but only my perspective towards the round. After struggling for a while now shooting between 90 and 95 and hitting a severe plateau I was becoming seriously disillusioned because no matter what I tried to change about my game I simply could not go lower. I even thought learning golf was so difficult until I planned to gave up.
Right after shooting a score identical to this for about the fifth time I was sitting thinking about the round and I realized something so simple but I had never had the thought before, that I can simply manage the round to remove the double bogies. It was the simplest thing and still I had never thought about it, the problem was that facing difficult shots around the course I would begin to imagine like Tiger Woods and try to put the ball 3 feet from the hole. That is the golf tips which I want to explain here.
My theory was that if this worked well once out of ten it will look spectacular and that would make all the following duffs well worth. Anyway now that I am sick of shooting nineties I made up my mind that all the Tiger shots will have to take a back seat and I am going to have to start playing wisely.
All I needed to do was put my ego back in the bag and planning a 10-15 meters putt for birdie, this way the most extreme I could do is a bogey. If I had attempted to play the flop shot I would have ended up in the bunker, be blessed to get out within 15 meters of the hole and at best get a double leaving the whole ready to hit my next drive. Playing safe and keeping my cool I would save at least one shot maybe two and leave the entire feeling average to good concerning playing the next hole.
